The history of card games in India is an interesting as the many variations played in the country today. Playing cards were invented in Imperial China. The first Card games came to India with the Mughal Empire, They introduced a “Ganjifa”. The numbers of games that were created in India and became very popular worldwide. Most games in India are played for leisure, but back in rural areas and even urban area, people are betting for money and for extra excitement of these card games. From last few years we had seen rapid growth in the popularity of card games, thanks to the online card games in India.
Today I’m going to describe some of the most popular online card games in India.
Teen Patti :
If we talk about gambling in India, Teen Patti is the name that comes up. It’s also known as Flush or Flash game. Almost every age of people is playing Teen Patti in India. The trend of Teen Patti game is rising higher than the Facebook addiction in India. The Teen Patti rules are very simple. You just need a standard deck of 52 cards to play this game. Each player gets a random set of 3 cards. The first dealer is chosen randomly, after that card are generally distributed to the player of the winning hand. Turns come in a clockwise manner. A Boot amount is required for each player to play the round.
India Rummy or Paplu:
Indian Rummy is a popular draw and discard based card game played all over India. The objective of the Rummy game is arranged all cards in proper sequences and/sets. There is a lot of fun just waiting to be experienced. 13 Cards Rummy game can be played with a minimum of 2 players. The dealer deals each player 13 cards face down. The rest of the deck is positioned face down and becomes the stock pile. You can now play Rummy 24×7 on your Mobile. There are Three basic concepts in Indian Rummy.
- Sequence :- A sequence is made of 4 consecutive cards of the same suits.
- Sets :- A set is made of 3 cards of the same rank of different suits.
- Jokers :- The joker can replace any card to form sequence and sets
Court Piece Game :-
A Court Piece game widely played in India and Pakistan. In India it is called Coat Pees and RUNG too. Pees is a Hindi word for dealing (distribution of cards). This game is played with a full standard deck of 52 cards by four players in fixed partnerships, sitting opposite. In some places it’s called Seven Hands. The dealer deals out five cards to each player. The trump-caller player looks at his/her five cards and (without communication with any person) announces the trump suit. After that dealer deals out all the remaining cards in batches of four, so that everyone has 13 cards.
Dehla Pakad (“Collect the Tens”) :-
Dehla Pakad is a 4 player card game played in India. The Dehla Pakad card game is very exciting and easy to learn. Dehla pakad is played with a single pack of 52 cards. 13 cards are distributed to each player. 5 cards are distributed in 1st round and 4 cards each with two rounds. The aim is to make 7 hands and collect a minimum of two 10s. Suppose a team X makes seven hands and but another team Y gets three 10s, then team X would be the looser. If team X and Y get two 10s each, the team that gets seven hands wins the game.
